Account closure & privacy requests

You can contact Globagift to request account closure or exercise your privacy rights. Closing your personal sign-in account, closing a brand or organisation, and requesting deletion of personal data are separate requests. Tell us which you need so the right team can help.

Request account closure

Email [email protected] with:

  • The email address associated with your account.
  • The organisation and brand names relevant to your request.
  • Whether you want to close only your personal account, a brand or the organisation.

Where possible, send the request from your registered email address. The team may need to confirm your identity or authority to request changes for an organisation.

If you are leaving a team while the business continues, make that clear. Your personal access and the organisation’s gift card programme need to be considered separately. See Team access for how organisation and brand access work.

Before closing a brand or organisation

Contact support to discuss outstanding gift cards, open orders, pending payouts and ongoing customer support needs. Review Statements and Settlement, and download the reports your business needs.

A closure request should not be treated as confirmation that gift cards have been cancelled, balances refunded or financial obligations resolved. Discuss these matters with support before making changes or communicating a closure date to customers.

For the terms applying to cardholders, see the Gift card terms and refund policy. Merchant arrangements may also be governed by your Merchant Agreement.

Request access, correction or deletion of personal data

Send privacy requests to [email protected], the contact listed in the Globagift Privacy Policy.

Explain the request and provide enough context to identify the relevant account or records. You can request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate information or deletion where the right to erasure applies. Other applicable rights include restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent.

If you want both account closure and personal-data deletion, say so explicitly. Do not include passwords, API keys, backup codes or full gift card codes. If additional identity verification is needed, ask the team how to provide it securely.

What happens to retained records?

Account closure does not necessarily mean every record is deleted immediately. Some personal data may need to be retained to comply with legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. The right to erasure has exceptions, as explained by the Irish Data Protection Commission.

The Privacy Policy explains Globagift’s retention periods for transaction, account, marketing, technical and support records. Refer to that policy for the current details rather than assuming that closing an account removes all associated records.

Privacy request response times

For GDPR rights requests, a response is required without undue delay and generally within one month of receipt. Where necessary because of the complexity or number of requests, this can be extended by up to two further months. Any extension and its reasons must be communicated within the first month.

These are privacy-request response times, not a promise that account closure or deletion of every record will be completed within one month. See the Data Protection Commission’s guidance.

Privacy complaints and accessibility concerns

For a privacy concern, contact [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission. The Privacy Policy identifies Globapay Holdings Limited as the data controller for Globagift.
